A subsea gate valve is an indispensable component of a subsea Christmas tree (oil/gas production tree). It primarily consists of a valve body, bonnet, gate, stem, seat, hydraulic cylinder, piston, spring, and actuator housing. Its function is to open and close fluid flow in the production bore and annulus bore of the subsea Christmas tree, controlling the direction of fluid flow. By opening and closing different subsea gate valves, various well completion and workover operations can be performed.
